I'm going to college. So now my only job options are like retail in between semesters.
Rn working at Five Below. They're understaffed and having me work longer hours because of it. It's just me and the manager (who just stays in the back). I may have to do the work of three people keeping the store OK but only really get paid for just me (not three people).
My plan was to go and finish college and get a career to support myself. But retail is soul crushing. Up until now i thought some sort of career (9-5) would have a little more respect. But now I'm just scared that all managers, regardless of the pay, end up overworking and underpaying you. Just like retail! And I am scared I can't handle it if so because what other option do we have in this world?
Edit: Also why is it also that all the jobs above minimum wage require some college or higher education? I was gonna go to college either way but what does that sat about K-12 education then?
