Went to 2 different major hardware stores to find the fuses that I needed for my home. First one didn't have them. And had no stock in other stores either. Second one did have them. But not on the shelf. First associate that worked that department pointed me in the general direction and when I asked for further help blew me off and walked away. Second associate told me they had 8 in stock, then blew me off too. Then proceeded to help someone of their own culture, the way they should have helped me. Out of frustration. I proceeded to find the fuses by myself, which were sitting on a shelf on the very top. Which was, I'm guessing 12-16 feet high. I looked for someone to bring them down for me. But there was nobody. So I finally said: fuck it. Found the rolling stairs. Brought them where I needed it. And brought them down myself. Then went to a manager and told him. If the associates helped me, as they were supposed to, I wouldn't have had to do that. The manager, quite frankly, looked ragged and run down. He shares with me, that they have had budget cuts. And was short staffed. Then offered to cash me out himself. I felt sorry for him to be honest. Because I was in his situation in December. I don't blame the staff. Or the manager. I blame the franchise. And the way they are managing things. You have a massive store, with probably a million dollars worth of inventory. If not more, and the most important facet of your business. STAFF. Who are meant to help customers. Who drive sales. Are scarce. Why? Because you think you can run a store with a minimum amount of staff. You are not saving money, or putting more money in your pockets by doing this. All you are doing is driving customers away. And having all that inventory collecting dust. Stop caring about your bottom line. And start caring for, and paying your staff. You take care of your staff, and hire more people. You will have people who care about doing their job. Which will lead to taking care of the customers. Which will lead to; surprise, surprise! Happy customers. Happy customers = to returning customers. Which equals to profits!
Edit: I also gave the manager the remaining stock. So he could put it in the proper place. For the next person. So they wouldn't have to go through what I did.
