Especially as an introverted person. I just want my CV to be seen with all my work successes, after submitting it through an online job listing. I don’t want to have to stress about “making connections” to get my CV “in front of the right people”, especially when I’m already spending most of my week already working and exhausted.
It’s so frustrating that job hunting is based on either luck or “who you know”. People have managed to do some amazing things, and don’t even get a look in just because they don’t know someone from one of the key departments at a company. I don’t have an issue with people being referred or using their connections, but the fact this feels like the only way to get your foot in the door at most places isn’t the one.
