I have to obviously keep this one a little vague but I’m in one of the financial roles that isn’t directly banking. A multi-millionaire is trying to lock in a better mortgage rate by claiming she is going to take thousands of dollars of IRA distributions she is not. Someone I work with in an administrative role in facilitating this.
I’ve been getting a threatening call from the millionaire about every 2 hours for the last several business days because she isn’t feeling enough reassurance that she’ll lock in that rate. She screeches at me I’m not picking up my phone for her enough (imagine that) and that her family really needs these savings. Her loan officer, who is straight up lying to his company, is joining in and also constantly calling. Meanwhile, I have to keep this motherfucking shithole from burning down because the person I work with is too distracted by how “important this is” to carefully watch the market volatility today.
