So I’ve been working at this job for four months now, there’s only five of us who work in our store and I am the only female. My boss has always shown favoritism to the guys and treats me like shit 90% of the time. Well, on Thursday I called out of work because I was sick. I went and got a doctors note (even though the employee handbook says that we only need a doctors note if we miss more than one day in a row) just so my boss would hopefully be less pissed off about it. Yesterday at work, my boss made me do everybody else’s side work because I’m “lazy” for calling out the day before. So everybody got to sit around while I did all the cleaning for the day. Today, I made it into work and I puked within 20 minutes of being there so my boss sent me home but he’s demanding I get a doctors note or else I’ll be written up. It’s a Saturday so the doctor and urgent care is both closed and there’s no way I’m gonna go to the Emergency room. I genuinely don’t know what to do at this point, my coworkers get to call in all the time when they’re hungover but when I’m actually sick it’s a problem.
My boss has also been making sexist comments about how he’s never going to hire another female again because I’m too “sensitive” (I cried in the bathroom when he called me ugly) and other shitty comments.
It’s such bullshit and I don’t understand how people get away with shit like this
