Sunday night, Monday morning (midnight) a friend ive had for 12 years had a stroke and was in a coma. I found out in time to give my employer a 16 hour notice. My boss told me if I didn't come in that next day I would not be coming in again.
I just wanted to be by my friends side when they took him off life support, so now I'm without a job and a close friend. Is there anything legally I can do? I do live in a “right to work” state if that helps. I honestly feel like my manager just doesn't want to do her job.
Bonus info, in the past ten days literally everyone else in my department has called in, one of which has called in 8 times this month alone. On top of this I'm the only male in my position and in my department (I might be over thinking that part)
