This is going to be a bit long. I had the absolute strangest job interview less than 6 hours ago. I am a medical esthetician. My preferred area of expertise is in body contouring procedures. Where I work now only does 2 methods and I would like to find a position that offers more.
So, I knew something was up before I even walked in the door. I had sent my resume to them on indeed because they posted they were looking for someone. The same day I sent my resume she responded at 1030pm asking if she could call that night to speak a bit over the phone. I was honest and told her that at the moment I could not give her undivided attention. She said she understood and asked me to call her sometime the next day after 12. So I did. For the very first few minutes everything seemed very normal, then she said “can you come here right now?”. I informed her that that was not possible. The first time I could come in was Monday (today). We set a time and that was that. Then the day before she messages me and says shes never seen my resume and credentials before because she is new to Indeed and doesnt know how to view them so she wanted me to send it to her email. I sent it in.
Today I show up and the place looks decent enough. We go in the back and the first thing she says is “Im exhausted, your the only reason I came in today”. I thanked her and she began asking all of the normal question. After speaking for maybe 2 minutes the esthetician that works there came in the room. They spent the next 5 mins speaking to each other in Russian. I am American, I have no damn clue what they were talking about but they had a whole damn conversation as if I wasnt there. Finally they stop. She says shed like me to show her my technique and asked for me to give her a facial. Thats totally normal and I was expecting it. I look at the product line they use and have no experience with it. I ask the esthetician what products are appropriate for her. She lines them up for me. As she is lining the products up for me my interviewer gets butt naked. Literally, no bra and no panties. In my head all I was screaming is what the fuck is going on here. Shes getting butt naked for a damn facial!!!!!!! I wish that was the end of it but its so not. The two once again begin to have another good 5 min conversation in Russian. Then the esthetician bends over and starts to repeatedly kiss the interviewers forehead!!!!!!!!!!! At this point I am totally blown way and dumbfounded. She finally stops and leaves. I start the facial. She asked me to do some extractions so I did. She then began getting panicked that I am going to leave her scarred and keeps pulling away, the other esthetician reenters room and they have another conversation. At the end of this one she says she has to do something so she gets up and gets dressed. I was sitting there for about 10 mins. When she comes back in she removes all of her clothes again. I wanted out of this place ASAP so I rushed through the rest of the treatment. She then tells me her neck hurts, could I massage it for her. Now, at work I do something called lymphatic drainage massage. I work on post operative patients. It really aids in the healing so she wanted to see how I do LDM. I tell her the neck is never an area I work on and she said thats ok. Im like screw this and started using massive pressure, after about a min I tell her Im done. She then asks if I can show her how I do LDM on legs. I dont do it but verbally walk her through it. When she gets up and dressed she says she wants to hire me but she cant right now. The area (according to her) is very Jewish and since passover is coming she wont be needing anybody. I could not believe this entire freaking interviews was really happening. I was looking around for a hidden camera because this shit cant be real, this has got to be a prank. The esthetician enters once again and walks up to her and kisses her forehead AGAIN while speaking Russian. With her distracted I made my move. I turned around and told her to get in touch after passover and thanks for her time and booked it out of that place like the fate of the world depended on me getting out of that room.
Frankly, I am still trying to process what the fuck happened. I am in a state of utter shock
