This is just a rant. I work contract for a very big company in my country. My bosses have always been extremely happy with my work and I've got nothing but good feedback. So at the start of the year I asked for a slight raise in my daily pay to counter inflation etc. But instead of showing me compassion and giving me the help I asked for, they strung me along for another 6 months and then told me my contract was not being renewed because they had to cut down on budget. I was completely blind sided. And it took me several weeks to realise how hurt I was.
No matter how much you think managers or bosses or a company may respect you and care for you. You are most likely just numbers on a page at the end of the day.
