Interesting thing that happened to me.

I've been working with this certain “company” that my dad's friend and his son own since last July, and I got into a problem with how I'm being compensated for my work. When I arrived there, this certain project that I was assigned to was 2 months due with no actual work being done on it. The contract they signed with the client included a cross-platform app and an admin web panel to go with. For the admin panel, the team worked prior to my assignment haven't finished anything, so I had to solo it from the rock bottom while designing it (Yeah, no one in the team actually designed anything to implement on) which took me about 3 weeks.

When I finished it, I got assigned to the cross-platform app that was being worked on with flutter/dart (A framework and a language that I've never used before), and as for the app, it was barebones too. Colors were hard to look at, layouts didn't make any sense and the biggest culprit being no one had a design to refer from.

Almost everyone working there were interns with contracts, but the issue with me is that my father wanted me to learn programming not knowing how versed I was at it (I don't particularly talk about what I'm good at, or what I do with anyone), which they took the advantage of.

I finished the app, changed whatever the client asked me to, and did almost 95% of the whole work of that project all on my own.

Then when I asked for a small reward since I did everything on my own, the reply was “budget is already finished, and we didn't sign a contract with you”.

Then I just reverted back everything I've done that could be rest without touching their code. (it was easy since the commit history was full of my commits)

Funniest part is, the only thing remaining with the app when I removed my commits is just a screen with a white background and menu saying “placeholder”.

They were so pissed at it, and I'm pretty sure they can't take any legal steps since I didn't sign any contract with them saying that'll finish x on y.

And today my dad's “friend” called him and cursed at him saying that I'm a thief, shit knowing his son tried to steal my hard work saying “the budget is over”

And they can't do much since the deadline they increase to is 17th of this month.
