So I recently transitioned to a new role within my company, following multiple requests from higher-ups. I interviewed for the role, and was told there would be a pay increase to 55k pa (Australian dollars, up from my previous 45k pa, unfortunately offer was never stated in writing). Big boss told me the pay for this role would be 'good' whilst I internally laughed.
Unfortunately, it has been 3 months and I've seen no substantial change in base pay rate. There were also promises of structured training, support etc. During the interview, which simply have not materialised.
I'm now doing double the work of my previous role, whilst getting the exact same compensation. The lack of support and any level of training has really placed me in a bad position as well. I'm basically training myself in the role through trial and error, whilst simultaneously trying to repair errors made by others.
Overall, I'm feeling incredibly disengaged and on the verge of quitting the role, even though I rely on the job. I just feel I've been conned by management. I've saved up a buffer of about 10k so I could maybe survive a couple of months, should I go jobless.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated?
