My daughter is sick with an ear infection and I've gotten her cold. I let my work know last week that she wasn't fit for child care due to antibiotics and unwellness and provided a medical certificate that stated as such. Now I've been feeling sick with her cold and haven't slept properly as she can't sleep well during the nights.
I rang the roster clerk this morning (sunday) apologising saying I am unable to come in for my shift on Wednesday as 18 month old daughter still poorly and I am feeling poorly as well. Two minutes later he sent out a text to all staff with my shift available on the Wednesday, a “late notice sick leave to fill”. It's left me feeling really guilty. I also work in an aged care facility with residents with comprimosed immune systems, dont want to get them sick. Did I not leave enough notice in your eyes?
