Is a 100,000$ a year job with full-pension, best Union and possible insurances worth it if it’s borderline slavery?

Physical work (which is fine) on a railway and the Union is Teamsters. Seniority applies so call-list, if you don’t answer the phone too many times you get fired, it’s opened 365 days a year so you don’t get holidays until enough seniority, work night-time shift too (maybe 10 years until you can go on the day shift)… Is this laziness for someone starting in this kind of job in his/her 30s with a family to be concerned?
