Is building a tiny house the only viable option for younger Americans?

Outside of bigger cities such as Los Angeles, NYC and Boston, a typical job pays from $13-$20ish an hour. Studio/1 bedroom apartments are anywhere from $1,300 to $2,000 a month. Normal houses are going anywhere from $275k-$450k. What the hell is anyone under the age of 35 supposed to do??? Even if one had a good paying job of around $60k after taxes, they’d still likely be stuck in the renting cycle between other rising costs. Are young Americans supposed to just build a tiny house next to their parents house?!?
