I needed an issue resolved by management. I called immediate boss, but he said he needed to wait until his boss came back from PTO. It struck me immediately that he didn't say vacation. He said PTO. Paid time off. It just seems so robotic to me. Like we really are just numbers on a card somewhere? Our lives are now measured in hours of contribution to the work force. In whether we're on the clock, getting paid off the clock or just not getting paid.
