Is having no work life balance standard in corporate white collar jobs?

Landed a new senior analyst job recently that was a huge promotion. During my move to state where office located, given almost no downtime to pack my moving truck, asked to dive into a huge project randomly with no notice. I often get called after 5 pm which lasts 2-3 hours. Was asked at 8 PM to submit a new data report by 8:45 tomorrow morning and we start work at 8. Boss often emails me after 8 PM not sure why or how… They log in at 7 am. Like do these people even sleep…. Seems like my new job has no work life balance or consideration of my time. Is this normal for senior roles, and managers?
