Is it bad that I won’t go to my office annual meeting, I work my ass off and it’s a 2 hour drive

I work remotely from a city 2 hours away from my office, my company knew this when they hired me as most people work from their homes. Tomorrow is my office annual ceremony, its just a social gathering but it will take time from me to get there in the morning and also the ceremony last only two hours so after that I will have to stay working in the Office. This by itself doesn't sound like much but I have a presentation in the afternoon and need the time to work. Also I stayed working late multiple times due to last minute request or too much work load to do, I was asked to work on Saturday and Sunday too. I don't mind doing this kind of things so I thought asking something in return wouldn't be bad. I told my boss that because I have work related things…

I told my boss that because I have work related things to do, I will rather stay in my city. She told me that everyone will be there except of me, I told her that I really think is for the best if I just stay. She say Ok and was clearly angry afterwards in our meeting.

I hope this doesn't bring me unexpected consequences
