Hey all,
I made a post a few days ago talking about how my employer recently fired me for asking questions about unpaid v paid sick leave and wether or not they paid that out upon leaving. But something I’ve started thinking about.
When all this went down, my boss/owner shows up to the job site (they’re a landscaping company) and asks me what was going on. I told him nothing really just waiting for instructions on what to do. So he told me “ok let’s go” and pointed to his truck. Now I assumed him and I were just going have a conversation about stuff. Well after a couple of minutes he proceeds to turn his car on and start driving. He then drives me all the way back to the shop all while verbally abusing me, yelling, cussing, (butch of boomer talk really) and just beraiding me the whole car ride with no way to get out. Like we’re on the freeway moving a t like 70-80 mph. A coworker of my others told me that apparently that’s a felony and he can get in a lot of trouble for. Is that it true that an action like that is illegal? And if so, How would I do something about that? I guess contact a lawyer?
