Is it, “no one wants $20 an hour to scoop ice cream,” or is it that potential employees don’t support repealing child labour laws?

Even though I don't live in the area, an article came across my path about how Polar Cave Ice Cream Parlour in Mashpee, MA was struggling to find employees at an average of $20/hr (lowest apparently being $15). Because that can't truly be the entire story, I sorted their Google reviews by Newest, discovering that the business owner advocates repealing current child labour laws (currently capping them at working to 7PM on school days). The reasoning was, “if these students are allowed to attend late-night events such as away sports games, then they should be able to work late, too,” up to 11PM, and apparently with no free time such as attending those away games.
