Is it okay for my employer to not compensate me for time spent on paperwork after regular working hours?

Additional context: We work on the road, traveling to our jobsite and spending about a week at one location, so the paperwork includes a nightly job status report, and on the weekends when we're at home (or the occasional weekend spent on the road) the paperwork includes the timesheet for the crew I'm on (but not the foreman, if that matters) as well as a close out package consisting mainly of photos. Since taking on these duties, I have felt like my time is being taken advantage of and the time spent completing these tasks should come with compensation. I have been hesitant to express this concern with my employer, keeping in mind I could be wrong. Any insight or advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you so much
