I don’t know if it’s because they think I’m desperate for a job. But I currently make $35 per hour at my contract job and once converted full time I’ll make 65,000. I tried to start off at 85-90k because I didn’t know the current salary and she asked me to ball park it. And from my research most jobs pay that much for engineers that’s been in the industry for 2 years.
You know she told me the budget is in 65k. So then I tried 70-75k and they will see what they can do. Then she tried to tell me something about 401k matches and 2% bonus sometime in March. I stuck my ground at 70-75k. That still feels low ball to me but guess who’s applying to 30 jobs tomorrow! This is beyond crazy.
