The average house in America is 430k. In major cities it’s a lot more expensive. No, the answer is not to move to the Midwest where’s there’s not a strong job market unless you live close to a city. Also as a POC the Midwest has a different kind of racism that is much worse than living on the east coast or the west coast. So I’m not moving in the middle of nowhere just to be a reasonable priced home where you may or may not be able to find a job.
