Is my boss breaking the law?

So i am currently employed by a self proclaimed small business. I have reason to believe that the owner is lying that he employes less that 26 workers. With him claiming this he is allowed to pay us below minimum wage. This was fine with me from the beginning. But recently in the beginning of January i got covid. I was unable to work for about 2 weeks. With me working in California, covid pay was retroactively approved from Jan 1 and onwards. But now he doesn't have to give me covid pay because he claims less than 26 employees. The main reason i believe he is lying is because he owns 9 retail locations. The one I work at has 5 employees. It just doesn't add up. Another major issue i have is that he is currently recording video and audio. He never asked us for consent. I never…

Another major issue i have is that he is currently recording video and audio. He never asked us for consent. I never signed anything when I was hired. If i wanted i could get a copy of the recording.

I guess i just need people opinion on my situation and what i should do now or when i leave.
