Is my employer breaking the law?

Hello, I work under contract for a Covid Testing company, I work 40 hours a week, 4 days a week, schedule is never consistent but I dont mind. My big issue right now is that allegedly, my employer wants to make hourly employees who take TO make those hours up another week, AKA working 5-6 10 hour days a week. The problem with this is that they are not paying overtime for these “make up days”, my brain is thinking “regardless of making up the days, I am still working 50-60 hours a week and not getting OT for it”, is my employer breaking the law?
