10 staff walked out of my walmart today

This is an update for a previous post on this subreddit I posted two weeks ago (I will link it below.). First of all you'll notice only 10 walked out, that's because 5 couldn't last another 2 weeks. It was a beautiful disaster. We did it at the busiest time of the day (around 3pm), leaving all registers and tills unattended. Our managers asked us where we were going and we all told them we were leaving, and that we wouldn't be in for our shifts tomorrow. About an hour after we left the store closed, customers in line couldn't get their things before hand because only one of the 6 managers is actually a trained cashier. I drove by it 20 minutes ago the lights are still on inside but there's a sign on the door stating that it's temporarily closed for lack of staff. Regarding the clear violations…

Regarding the clear violations I highlighted in my last post, we have contacted Walmart HR, and with the store shutting down we are hoping they will actually come to our location.

I alerted our local newspaper, however I'm not sure if anyone actually went, it was chaotic and we were all so focused on getting our things we didn't get any substantial photos of it.

Our towns Facebook page is all over it, though, and I've been sure to answer every angry post and comment and explain exactly what happened.

I truly think it's the end of our location though, wouldn't be suprised if another big box store came in a replaced it over the summer.

Thank you to everyone who told me to walk with them, I've never felt like more of a badass in my life. Last two weeks I was really focused on school, and I actually found out that I'm one of the valedictorians this year.

Here's to quitting shitty jobs and knowing our worth.
