So for 6 months I have been working at the most soul crushing/draining/tearing work as a call centre agent aka I work with the worst society has to offer for example a lady who literally told me ‘hurry up, I have 5 other companies I have to call to complain about’ . Jeez I think most of these angry callers just call to vent their frustrations and have no real issues with their service like they claim after the 10th repair really? Your calling to yell again?
So anyways after having a emergency issue at my desk and being away from my desk a few hours I wasn’t receiving any call or text to see if I was ok or why I was out of my desk. I felt like the company didn’t give a rats ass if I bled out on that table right there and then.
So I decided I didn’t care about the company either so I’ll take calls every 2 hours but go missing for a couple hours and after go chill before logging back in to sign out every day. It’s been 3 WEEKS and I still haven’t been caught, my manager sent an email with a warning about no shows or tardies as a reminder which I think was aimed more towards me but I’m baffled that no one has questioned or warned me.
I don’t want this job anymore but I’m too stubborn to quit, can I be fired at this point? Will the wages be taken? Can they prove I’ve been missing time?
I live in Calgary, Canada so I’m not sure if legal actions can be taken upon me or not? If I get fired can they prove there’s cause?
