Is my former manager retaliating?

I worked 1 shift at a gas station, and had to quit. My family had multiple emergencies the day of my first shift, and I made the (what I know is a) mistake of telling my manager what was going on, in more detail than I should have. She was very persistent that I find some way to work this out and come to work that weekend because it was going to be a busy weekend. I apologized, but stood firm and told her that I needed to sort things out and asked her, as a nicety I guess, to please keep me in mind for any future positions/openings. She seemed pretty accepting of the situation, and I thought I would at least be paid for the 1 shift I worked. However, the pay period has come and gone, and I still haven't been paid. Would this be retaliation? Since…

Would this be retaliation? Since she kept telling me how much she needed me to work this shift and I told her I couldn't due to family emergencies and quit.
