I work for a company that sends job posting messages to all employees when new positions are available. It looks like they want to help their current employees get a better jobs with a pay increase. The problem is that 100% of the time, in the last four years I have been working for this company, there have been no internal promotions or hires. They have hired two GIS analysts that work in my field but have no experience since they just got out of college. As you probably figured out, they are making more than me, even though I have experience in the field. Are they learning something new in college that makes them deserving of higher earnings? Is my company trying to get rid of me indirectly by hiring them?
Do I need to complement my experience with new studies, and if so, should I ask the company to pay for them? I do not know the best way to approach my supervisors about this. I can only think of looking for a job elsewhere to avoid confronting them about this situation.
