Is there something that can be done if

your office raises the quota in your department to an impossibly high number that could not be conceivably achieved, especially within the system they have established? Our individual filings take longer than most departments so our quota is 28. A department that takes a significantly smaller amount of time for example had a quota of 50. I have worked in both departments and I can say 28 is fair but could be reasonably pushed to 30-35. The department with the quota of 50 previously had a quota of 40, but as a result of too much socializing they raised the quota by 10. Because some people in our department were socializing a little too much they raised our quota to 60 today without warning. There was no e-mail, or meeting about the socializing, just an e-mail saying “the quota is 60 now”. It just seems like a scheme to force…

It just seems like a scheme to force people with higher pay who have been working for a longer time to be forced to quit or fired for not hitting this new absurd quota daily. The new people will be none the wiser and will end up doing more work for less pay.

(On a side note my boss is in his 50's and is married to a woman in her early 20's and likes to abuse his position of power and give special treatment to young conventionally attractive girls around the office, his new assistant is in her early 20's and went with him and some other colleagues out of town to a place for tourists, I would say the behavior seems problematic but I can't say I'd be surprised if this was a normal occurrence that is just accepted at most places of work)
