Is this legal? A supervisor, asking their coworkers if they trust everyone, with the result that someone resigns because they don’t feel the team trusts them?

names are random names. So I live in a home with staff, as a disabled person. One of the staff, John, everyone loves. All the residents, that is. He resigned! Under pressure of distrust! I don't know if what the supervisor did was an allowable thing? Here's the situation: Last week I and some other the residents complay to Jared, who works for a different organization to support some of the residents outside of our house's org. And Jared says, we gotta do something about this, to the point that: we the residents, actually have a class action lawsuit. So today I find out, John isn't here anymore, and one of the other residents told me that they heard why: the supervisor, Samuel, asked John and the other employees if everyone trusts everyone, and john says, do you trust me? and Samuel say, no, and so john resigns. That's the rumor anyway, this isn't the exact details.

Should I do something about this? is it legal? can a supervisor straight up implicate that you resign if you don't feel trusted? That doesn't seem legal to me.

like, this is crazy, and I don't even know how to process it. I was really glad John was here, and now it's only the staff who I don't want to interact with, if I can so help it.

I don't really have anything other than suspicious accusation here, but I'm pretty sure that Samuel only asked the team this with the intent that he flush out who in the staff is on the resident's side. I don't even think they know exactly what is up, but it's possible they somehow know what's up, idk. We only met on thursday, to talk with Jared abut the situation.
