Is this legal in MA?

I work in a factory in MA. I just recently hit my 90 days there. Since I’ve started working there, there have been 5+ shifts where they told us there was no work so we had the day off. This is largely due to their high level of disorganization. Oftentimes it has been less than 24 hours notice for this, and we have not been paid for any of these shifts. This is a full time (40 hour) position and was advertised as such. For some of the employees they have even been taking from their PTO to cover these random days off. I’m pretty sure all of this is illegal, but when I’ve tried to look this up I couldn’t find an answer. Does anyone know the answer to this?
