Is this legal? UK

My place of work has under 15 employees, 7 of which ended up getting covid at the same time. Because of this, my manager saw fit that we should close for a few days due to shortage of staff, completely understandable. However, they aren’t going to pay anyone for the few days we were closed. I mean, it wasn’t my decision to close, I wasn’t sick, so why shouldn’t I get paid? I work a 40hr week on minimum wage, I really can’t afford to just lose pay. Manager suggested using holiday days to cover, however all my holidays are planned out and I will be out of the country for these so it won’t work. Anyone know if this is legal or not? Wasn’t sure what to Google to find out
