Is this the right decision?

Hi guys! 🙂 I have thought about making this post for some time now… I managed to take step 1 and downshift the working hours from 11 to 8 hours a day, at my current job, because I've discovered my truly needs. I am a passionate writer and animation enthusiast. That's I'd like to say “what I'd love to do in my life”, but everyone including me, phisically live inside this world, and have to face the current laws (economy, politics, etc). Hi guys! 🙂

I have thought about making this post for some time now…

I managed to take step 1 and downshift the working hours from 11 to 8 hours a day, at my current job, because I've discovered my truly needs.

I am a passionate writer and animation enthusiast. That's I'd like to say “what I'd love to do in my life”, but everyone including me, phisically live inside this world, and have to face the current laws (economy, politics, etc).

It would be time for a career choice, since I am not a person who wants to do work culture a part of my life, and compared to the job I do now, it would be a big change. As anyone here, I'm trying to wring out the “work culture”, to cleanse my body from its toxins.

I love the city where I live and for this very reason, I would have 2 options to choose from: the first is to have a job in the public administration office of my city, and, in less than 3 years, convert the working schedule on 3 days a week, or a maximum of 20h a week. Considering that you do not live in my city, let's say that the salary would allow to have 15/20% in net savings, after cost of living.

The second option is to become a software developer, which a group of friends already do, mainly to work remotely, always keeping the goal of working under 20 hours a week, within 3/5 years, or better, since it's an well payed position, just work for 6 months a year! That would be definetly game changer, right!?
Doing the math, this occupation would allow a 20/30% of saving, but it is not this the part that interests me so much, infact I would be allowed to completely eliminate the need to going to the office!

Given that i like animation/writing, some of you may advice me to work in animation job.. I would like to do that! But it's 10+h a day at a desk not what I am for!

Please have a discussion! Tell me your thoughts and perspectives on this 🙂
