I used to use a traditional mobility scooter at work.
To improve muscle strength, balance and blood circulation I started using an electric stand up scooter.
My job is now giving me problems because it looks unprofessional. I work outdoors for the most part and use it to get between buildings.
I checked the ADA website and their was a section on how untraditional mobility scooters are have the same protection as traditional scooters and the government recognizes their need to aid the disabled.
Don’t have health insurance so I don’t really see a doctor anymore for my issues and don’t want to spend money on an attorney, even though most attorneys handle ADA cases on contingency.
What is the best way to approach this? Should I write my own cease and desist letter? Do I need to give a reason why I need the scooter at work?
If it matters I am leaving in a week and a half.
