My girl loves her job. Loves it love it. She works as a dyalysis tech at a very large medical company. Over the past few months though, her hours have slowly been eroded. This company still has many hiring ads as well. Although I don't feel that she has told me the entire extent, she was here one evening and I was in the room while she spoke to her “boss” and “friend”. As someone who's been in food service for 15 years, I know damn well most bosses and co-workers are demons. Anyways, apparently her position was just….idk. There's not enough hours for her suddenly. I've been nice about it, and like I do in culinary school, I warn people that businesses will completely fuck you over if it means something good for them, which turns into an argument because she trusts all these people.
Since she can't make enough hours at this location in the town she lives, and driving to and from locations in surrounding counties would leave her in the negative, she had to transfer to a location 400 miles away, which would probably end our relationship as well.
My blood is boiling.
She had a friend to stay with while she found a place down there, and has been searching for apartments, etc for weeks, and today was her last official day there after 3.5 years and they took her out to a “goodbye lunch” or whatever.
She messaged me earlier that after that lunch, they fucking brought her in the office and fired her. She's absolutely crushed. She lost both parents last year and the move was going to end us as well, so the job and coworkers were all she felt she had and they played this bullshit game to get around employment laws. HIPPA protects the companies, not the patients or the workers.
