1 year ago I decided to join the IT career field.
I have worked my ass off learning as much as I can. I started at a MSP (Managed Service Provider), basically the hell of IT. I stuck thru it and stuck my fingers in as many pies as I could while I was there.
At the MSP I was getting 36k working non stop, but I didn’t mind as I knew the knowledge I was getting was worth more.
I was poached by a recruiter and now I work MAYBE 15 hours a week making 54k at home.
I play VR, walk my dogs, literally anything else and no one is micro managing me. Is this real life? Is this what it’s all about? The higher I go the less work I do?
And you know what, I STILL feel underpaid, no lie. Maybe I’ll make it to $35 an hour sooner than I thought.
Anyone in a rut, sick of their job, look at IT.
Edit: I am in school for Data Analysis and not just treating this job as a easy skate by gig (which it honestly is). Continue to learn, continue to ask questions no matter how dumb they seem.
