Everyone from service desk to the most advanced positions need a union. I don’t care if they make $100k+ a year, we all need a union.
I am in IT, admittedly not very high in the chain. I took some courses, passed some certifications, and got in the industry. We fucking need a union.
L2s in my company are on call all the time. They make the same as L1s. L1s havent seen a raise since 2020, and inflation has hit hard and fast, now at 8.5%+ a year. The schedule for L1s changes from day to night with barely a weeks notice. Off hours desk gets the same rate of pay as business hour workers. Bilingual workers get paid more, but monolingual workers still have to take those Spanish and French tickets and do their best with translators.
We need a fucking union. We’re doctors for the companies bottom line at all hours of the day, because if our systems fail, the company is fucking done.
