It’s 7AM and I just signed on at work, sat down, and I realize how angry I am that one extra day to myself felt THAT good

Yesterday was labor day in the US, meaning some of us (yes there are plenty of people who don’t get the day off) didn’t clock in. It is absolutely insane how good I felt on Sunday. I began my new job in March and I haven’t taken any time off yet because I am trying to accrue some days, and holy fuck having even a single extra day momentarily improved my quality of life THAT much? I can’t believe that roughly 70% of my life is owned by a fucking business. I can’t believe that even a 5 day work week is normalized so much in fucking 2022. I hate that we haven’t moved past this despite provable increases in worker efficiency in the age of computers. I’m just so tired. I went to bed on Sunday night laughing with my girlfriend instead of feeling a pit in my stomach…
