Title says it all. 8 days since Hurricane Ian whipped through southwest Florida and cut off the only bridge to my workplace. 8 days of calling and texting my boss to get SOME clarification on whether or not I’m still employed, have been laid off, furloughed, anything. We know she’s alive because she was spotted by one of our customers in line to buy gas. I just can’t believe there are no legal protections for workers who are in this situation.
