At work and hating my life, just checked google and realised from their doodle that it's Earth day. Climate change is destroying the world for us and all future generations and I'm doing nothing to prevent it, instead I'm in the office making money for corporate overlord boomers who don't care if Bangladesh floods displacing millions of people or if heatwaves kill vulnerable elderly people who can't afford electricity for air conditioning or about how many species go extinct at an incresingly rapid rate.
I feel like I'm wasting my life. My job contributes nothing of value to society. I could be disrupting traffic with extinction rebellion or running naked through televised sports events but instead I do nothing and nothing changes.
Antiwork is not just about being mistreated by employers, it's also about the valuable time we waste there that stop us from actually doing something important with our lives.
