So nearly 4 weeks ago I was suspended from my job after getting into a heated argument with two of my coworkers.
The night of the argument, I was sent home, the next day I got a call saying I was suspended “pending investigation”
I was then told that someone from HR would contact me to get a statement of what happened from my point of view. I didn’t get that call until two weeks later despite my multiple attempts at reaching out to them and my calls not being answered nor returned.
Once I finally had the call to give my statement, I was told someone would reach out in the next couple of days. Another week went by before I called to follow up and was told that the head of HR was supposed to reach out to me and they weren’t sure why she didn’t. I was told a few days later that she would be in contact with me on Friday, Friday I was told it would be on Monday and today it is now Wednesday and I still don’t know if I have a job. Here’s some bullet points about the incident
I was the only one sent home
I was the only one suspended pending investigation
I’ve never had a verbal nor written disciplinary action and my attendance is perfect.
I was not given a return date
HR is refusing to communicate the situation with me
I’ve been out of work with no pay for almost a month now.
What should I do about this? (outside of looking for a new job because I’ve already started doing that)
Is what they are doing legal?
