Hello, I am about to start work for a major company. I have gone through many interview processes and so I am familiar with how an interview process and job offer timeline works. My most recent offer was verbal last week, and this job told me that further details would be forthcoming pending my background check. It is now Thursday And I just received an email from HR telling me to come in at 9 AM on Monday. I am a bit confused because I have had no information regarding benefits and employment terms. I asked for a written offer over email last week and all they said was welcome to the team on a generic form with nothing about my salary or benefits. I talked to some people who said that this might be customary for the corporate hospitality industry, but it still leaves a weird taste in my mouth.
What would you do? Are they just trying to lure me in? they know I’m a recent college graduate but they also do not know that I have a lot of experience already negotiating offers and compare offers as I have already had a major one fall through due to the economic downturn.
