Seems like you would assume that there is an abundance of jobs in NYC, and maybe there is but could it be they aren't quality ones?
It seems the job postings within the city are unrealistic, underpaid, understaffed and overwhelmingly stressful. The rules don't apply in NYC, the job could be shit, the institution can be great but pay like shit..but you need to be glad that ” YOU CAN MAKE IT IN NYC”.
Everything there has turned into a trade, waiting tables, warehousing, custodial, everyone wants 1.5 million years experience for shit wages,and they want backflips in between. I've had two interviews in the past few days and both of them have been trash, I'm going to stop coming to the city to look for work. I'm done.
