Just a rant
I’ve been looking for other work I can do. I’m a nurse, but am completely compassionately and physically fatigued for now.
I’d been looking for something that doesn’t require so much human contact lol.
My main gripe is seeing jobs that want you to have a BA/BS, open availability (M-F, on-call, weekends) and pay in the -teens.
It’s common practice in healthcare to PAY HCP’s a premium for their availability. $100/day if you’re not called in, or an extra $5-$10/h if you are, and I wonder why in the fuck businesses have the audacity to expect full availability from you when they don’t pay enough to cover all of one’s expenses. So the poor chap that takes the job is making a dollar stretch and pulling time out of their ass for a decent existence.
Call me a lazy ass millennial (bitch, I might be) but I’d rather be unemployed and broke than undervalued, overworked, and broke.
SN: I am working in a lab now & not actually unemployed but I definitely was for a hot minute.
