I am so close and trying to hang in there. I am waiting on the state im in now to move my cosmo license over from my previous state so I took a contract job in politics to work through the election. The job doesn't pay what I'm used to making but it's a salaried job of 4k full paid for benefits (like I don't have to pay a portion) but im scheduled 53 hours per week. It was advertised as a volunteer organizer position and I have plenty of experience as an organizer so I thought this would be a great way to get involved in my new community.
What it really is is a paid canvasses job. Oh I get all the responsibility of an organizer but my “priority” is canvassing. They expect about 100 houses a day and 200 a day on weekends. I've walked what seems like every corner of this city. I am in so much physical pain because I had a screw put in my foot in December. I can't keep up and then I get in trouble for not making goals. I put in my notice and only have two days left but God im hurting. I told my boss I'm not currently functioning without taking hard pain killers and I'm just trying my best and he's just like 🤷️ well that's what you gotta do. Ugghhhh I can't wait to have some time off but I'm stressing money. I really should hold onto it until my license transfers but I can't handle it.
