Im a preschool teacher’s aid, the preschool has 5 employees and a director. We’re all sick, because the preschool doesn’t stand up to parents who insist their child is not sick when we all know they are.
Husband has tried to get me to take the day off but I know everyone is sick, so it’s not like I can give it to anyone, and I don’t my lead to have to handle it on her own.
So today, I was wrapping up a fast and asked to switch lunches with the lead, which meant the playground. I paired the right kids up, cleaned up some stuff, redirected some stuff, then pushed kids on the swing.
I’m exhausted, because being sick is making it hard to sleep, and also we’re required to do PE with the kids. This week is all upper body and I have a jacked up shoulder from the army, so I’m hurting, and the swings are too low, so I sit and push. Get up a couple times when little buddy went somewhere he wasn’t supposed to, walked around, pushed while seated a bit longer. Maybe 15 minutes?
I get paid 10.50 an hour. I kinda wanted to offer her $3 as a refund.
It’s a one year contract in a new place, the reference would be so helpful, so I’m sticking it out til May but ugh
