Just ended an interview after 15 minutes

ETA: I’m in my late 30’s so more writing this out for younger folks- know your worth and don’t put up with behavior like this! Your time is valuable and this is a time where workers have power too. This was clearly a role for someone just out of college and not marketed well. But any employer who expects this much from potential employees of any age is an employer that will not trust you or value you. I’ve got a decent job, but am always on the lookout because I’m underpaid (but good benefits and work/life balance). My manager put in her 2 weeks and it’s got me searching more heavily again (she was the rarity of an excellent manager and I’ll miss working with her). Saw a job ad on LinkedIn for a Research Analyst role that looked interesting and went ahead and applied. First red flag was…

First red flag was it has you do one of those lazy informational interviews where you go online and record your answers to questions.
Today I was to have a “first round” interview and it started with us briefly chatting over Zoom (red flag #2 was him discussing finding fulfillment from work in his opening spiel) and then they had me do a typing test live- red flag #3 since they asked in the application how fast I can type (is typing speed a thing people worry about anymore?)

Red flag #4 was they then want to give you a mock assignment that you’ll get an hour to complete. It would require you to call and interview someone (it would be someone at the company) and provide a written report for the scenario. If you passed that you made it to a final round interview lol

I said the job ad mentioned benefits but not a salary range and I wanted to discuss before moving forward. They want someone to put in all this work for a job that pays $43-55k. Laughable.

I told the HR person that would be a significant pay cut for me and I don’t think this is a good fit on either end, wished them well and ended the Zoom call. Red flags 2-4 happened in the span of 15 minutes…
