Just fired for something I did not do

I was talking to a friend about a previous relationship and got a call when I got home telling me I didn't need to work for them anymore due to inappropriate comments about a coworker and then they proceeded to quote me on something that I didn't say at all. I don't care about the job I just don't know how to handle all my friends from that place essentially hating me for something I didn't even do
