I've been with this company for two years and haven't been started to realize that they are not consistent with wages at all. Some people are very underpaid and some are getting paid a lot more for practically no reason. But anyway, I just found out that our new guy is getting paid a lot more than I am. He also came from a store that they started cutting hours from because they weren't making profit at that store. (When I worked at that same store they didn't want to pay more because of that same issue, yet they decided to give this guy a significantly higher rate at a lower income store. That barely makes sense.) I already planned on leaving the company, but was trying to hold out until September for my vacation, but now I'm not so sure I even want to wait that much longer.
I've already told my manager that the company has to pay me at least the same rate or more, because I don't think I should be getting paid less than someone who has little to no experience and hasn't been with the company as long as I have. Is there anything else I can really do though? I really wanted to hold out for my vacation in September, but I really starting to lose a lot of faith in this company and I don't think I can keep working for them knowing how they handle wages. There's a lot of other shit things about the company but I don't want to bore you guys with all that.
