Taking care of dementia patients is hard work. I enjoyed it, for awhile.
To start they promoted the receptionist to my manager (no management experience, constant micromanaging, and pretends to do office work by staring at a computer with nothing on it)
Then they decided to lock all the doors, and split one key amongst us all.
Then they swept a residents constant abuse and sexual harassment of caregivers under the rug because “he’s money”
And today, I found out everyone is making 14.50-15$ an hour while I’m making 12$. Plus, since everyone quit I basically have the second highest seniority.
All this after they cut me down to 3 days a week so they could cancel the insurance.
I’m tired, depressed, and exhausted mentally, physically and emotionally. I’m constantly taking abuse from residents and management turns a blind eye. I leave this job daily with scratch marks. I just don’t know what to do anymore.
How am I only payed 12$ an hour to take care of 15 dementia ridden peoples entire lives?
