Just found out new hires and getting paid more than me. What can I do?

When I come to them and ask to be paid as much as the new hires, what can I do if they end up firing me for discussing salary? Could I file a lawsuit against them? Who would I have to contact to get them in trouble for this? Is there a better way of going about this whole thing?
